Prayer Shop 2023 | Notre Week-End de Prière 2023
PrayerShop is our annual Prayer Weekend in the Maritimes. Many people look forward to attending, and 2023 has been no exception. Over 70 people of all ages came for the interactive weekend with the theme “Unlimited Encounters”, and many were there for the first time. Almost everyone arrived with a biblical encounter in their minds that they resonated with or would like to have experienced themselves.
Friday evening was focused on connecting with God, particularly through music, and setting aside anything that would hinder us from receiving a blessing.
Early on Sabbath morning, we saw a group of over 20 in the Prayer Chapel, seeking an early blessing and expressing praise to God for His presence and goodness. Then we spent time in nature listening to God speak to us and then sharing our testimonies from that time that we spent with Him. We looked at the vision of Ezekiel 16:1-14 and how it applies to our own Christian experience: God takes us when we are helpless and rejected and speaks life into us. He doesn’t expect anything from us, but gives us all that we need to grow and mature, spiritually, until we are ready to receive His love and become all He desires for us. Often, we are hindered from connecting with God because of our belief in His expectations of us, and the pressure that it creates. Understanding that He loves us no matter where we are at or what plagues us, and just wants to connect and spend time with us, can make a huge difference in our ability to trust Him with the deep and sometimes dark things in our lives and hearts. A few more testimonies were given to help us to see where we could be blocked.
Sabbath afternoon was about more testimonies of answered prayer and we took some time to pray for a special prayer concern. Then in the evening we had our “Holy Spirit Time” of breaking into small groups to pray for each other and any concerns we might have that needed God’s special touch.
Again, early Sunday morning, we saw a good group of people in the Prayer Chapel for another special blessing. Then we took a devotional look at the parable of the Sower, and the consideration of what kind of soil is in each of our hearts. Will the blessing we each received throughout the weekend grow and thrive? Or will it be snatched away by birds (distractions) or choked out by thorns (the cares of life)?
We had our annual book draw during breakfast, and then it was time to clean up, pack up, and head home again.
Good feedback from those who attended continues to be expressed, and it appears that the soil of many hearts were soft and tilled deeply, and the blessings received are continuing to grow and multiply! We are looking forward to getting together again in 2024.

PrayerShop est notre week-end de prière annuel dans les Maritimes. De nombreuses personnes attendent avec impatience d'y participer, et l'année 2023 n'a pas fait exception à la règle. Plus de 70 personnes de tous âges ont participé à ce week-end interactif sur le thème " Rencontres illimitées ", et beaucoup étaient là pour la première fois. La plupart d'entre elles sont arrivées avec à l'esprit une rencontre biblique avec laquelle elles ont été en résonance ou qu'elles auraient aimé vivre elles-mêmes.
Le vendredi soir a été consacré à la connexion avec Dieu, en particulier par la musique, et à la mise de côté de tout ce qui pourrait empêcher de recevoir une bénédiction.
Tôt le matin du sabbat, un groupe de plus de 20 personnes s'est retrouvé dans la chapelle de prière, à la recherche d'une bénédiction précoce et exprimant sa louange à Dieu pour sa présence et sa bonté. Ensuite, nous avons passé du temps dans la nature à écouter Dieu nous parler, puis à partager nos témoignages de ce temps passé avec Lui. Nous avons examiné la vision d'Ezéchiel 16:1-14 et comment elle s'applique à notre propre expérience chrétienne : Dieu nous prend lorsque nous sommes impuissants et rejetés et nous insuffle la vie. Il n'attend rien de nous, mais nous donne tout ce dont nous avons besoin pour grandir et mûrir spirituellement, jusqu'à ce que nous soyons prêts à recevoir son amour et à devenir tout ce qu'il désire pour nous. Souvent, nous sommes empêchés de nous connecter à Dieu parce que nous croyons qu'il attend quelque chose de nous, et la pression que cela crée. Comprendre qu'il nous aime, peu importe où nous en sommes ou ce qui nous afflige, et qu'il veut simplement se connecter et passer du temps avec nous, peut faire une énorme différence dans notre capacité à lui faire confiance avec les choses profondes et parfois sombres de nos vies et de nos cœurs. Quelques autres témoignages nous ont aidés à voir où nous pouvions vivre d’autres blocages.
L'après-midi du sabbat a été consacré à d'autres témoignages de prières exaucées et à un temps de prière pour une préoccupation particulière. Puis, dans la soirée, nous avons eu notre "temps du Saint-Esprit" en nous séparant en petits groupes pour prier les uns pour les autres et pour toutes les préoccupations que nous pouvions avoir et qui nécessitaient la touche spéciale de Dieu.
Le dimanche matin, un bon groupe s'est retrouvé dans la chapelle de prière pour une nouvelle bénédiction spéciale. Ensuite, nous nous sommes penchés sur la parabole du Semeur et nous avons réfléchi à la nature du sol qui se trouve dans chacun de nos cœurs. La bénédiction que nous avons reçue tout au long du week-end va-t-elle croître et prospérer ? Ou sera-t-elle enlevée par les oiseaux (distractions) ou étouffée par les épines (soucis de la vie)?
Nous avons procédé au tirage au sort annuel des livres pendant le petit-déjeuner, puis il a été temps de ranger, d'emballer et de rentrer à la maison. Nous continuons à recevoir de bons échos, et il semble que le sol de nombreux cœurs soit doux et labouré en profondeur, et que les bénédictions reçues continuent à croître et à se multiplier!#
Nous nous réjouissons de nous retrouver à nouveau en 2024.

Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen
We are happy to announce that the Dartmouth Seventh-day Adventist Church had a community outreach this month. Through our very own soup kitchen, the "Our Daily Bread" SDA Soup Kitchen, we prepared seventy-two Thanksgiving meals for the homeless as well as the less fortunate.
By the grace of God, we were also able to go to the tented areas of Dartmouth and we delivered containers that were filled with Thanksgiving meals along with other items such as warm socks for anyone who needed them. We are grateful for those who volunteered to be the Lord's hands and His feet to bring a blessing to those who were in need in our community.

Les members de l’Église Adventiste du Septième jour de Dartmouth ont préparés des repas pour la communauté à travers le programme “Notre pain quotidien” qui offre la soupe populaire à cette église.
Ils ont préparés 72 repas pour l’action de grace, les ont mis dans des contenants et les ont distribués dans certains endroits dans Dartmouth ou il y a des gens qui vivent sous les tentes.
Ils ont distribués des articles comme des bas pour ceux qui en avaint besoin afin de se garder au chaud.#
Les personnes qui ont participés à ce projet disent être remplis de joie à l’idée d’avoir été utilisé par notre Sauveur comme ses mains et ses pieds afin d’apporter des bénéictions à ces gens dans le besoin.

Sandy Lake Academy | L'Académie de Sandy Lake Worthy Scholarship Student Fund | Des Fonds pour Les Bourses D'études
Sandy Lake Academy has been blessed with the opportunity to educate 134 students this year for Jesus. With this growth in student enrollment also comes increased need for Worthy Scholarship Student Fund (WSF) money to help offset the cost of Adventist Education for some of our families. Many of our families in need are new to our country, having escaped the ravages of war, financial uncertainty, or seeking to gain more education and to establish roots here for their families.
We have set the goal for the 2023-2024 school year of raising $50,000 for our WSF, and hope that many around the Maritimes can make contributions both big and small to join up with us in this work. There are many ways that you can make a donation. You can:

L'Académie de Sandy Lake a eu la chance d'éduquer 134 élèves cette année, tout ça pour Jésus. Cette croissance des effectifs s'accompagne également d'un besoin accru de fonds pour les bourses d'études (Worthy Scholarship Student Fund - WSF) afin de compenser le coût de l'éducation adventiste pour certaines de nos familles. Beaucoup de nos familles dans le besoin sont nouvelles dans notre pays, ayant échappé aux ravages de la guerre, à l'incertitude financière, ou cherchant à acquérir plus d'éducation et à établir des racines ici pour leurs familles.

Obituary/Notice Nécrologique Gaetan Normand
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gaetan Normand of Hamiota, Manitoba, who passed away on September 17, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Cornelia Kirschmann; and his children, Jean-François, Marie-Helene, Pierre, Aline, Catherine and Jean "John".
While he was living in the Moncton area, Gaetan attended the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Maritime Conference wishes to extend our deepest sympathies to Gaetan's family as well as his loved ones.
