Paul Llewellyn

Paul Llewellyn hails from the lovely Island of Prince Edward Island (PEI). He grew up in a military household and got to see God slowly bring his whole family to know Jesus. Paul started serving the church in the field of Education and then moved into teaching Bible Classes and serving as a chaplain. Eventually he moved into pastoral ministry and then into administration. God has always led in a most amazing way as his wife and him have learned to trust in His leading. No matter where God plants them, they know that God will never leave them or give up on them.
Cyril Millett III
Executive Secretary of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Canada
Pastor Cyril Millett III was born and raised on the island of Bermuda. He has served in churches, schools, and conferences as a youth pastor, high school chaplain, high school teacher, men’s ministries director, campus ministries director, camp ministries director, youth ministries director, Sabbath school director, and superintendent of education. In 2022, he was elected to serve as the executive secretary of the
Seventh-day Adventist Church in Canada (SDACC). Pastor Millett is married to the lovely Glenda Francis-Millett and they have one adult son, Justin.
Robert Zama
Media Evangelist for Hope Canada
Robert Zama recently joined the Hope Channel Canada team as Media Evangelist. Previous to this he served as the Evangelist and Associate Director for Outreach Ministries for the Oregon Conference. Born in Romania and raised in Southern Ontario, Robert is familiar with a variety of cultures and has experience preaching in many parts of the world. He has a bachelor’s degree in theology from Burman University and a Master of Divinity from Andrews University. He is a dynamic speaker, a husband, a father of a 10-year-old daughter and loves to share the message and love of Jesus.
Reema Sukumaran
Speaker, Author, and Trainer
Reema Sukumaran has overcome some insurmountable obstacles throughout her life. A victim of severe child abuse at the hands of a torturous parent, and raped by her pastor, she has experienced a nightmare that no one can imagine. The people she trusted the most failed her, including her church community. Despite the pain she has experienced, she continues to share her personal story in order to teach others how to minister to individuals who have experienced personal trauma, and betrayal of trusted individuals or organizations.
Reema is a speaker, author, and trainer who shares a riveting story from her heart. Her goal is to bring the topic of clergy abuse; often thought to be taboo, out of the darkness, and speak openly so others can recognize symptoms of unhealthy boundaries, burnout, and focus on self-care and respect. Sukumaran is a product of Seventh-day Adventist education. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Andrews University. She is the proud mother of six growing boys, and married to her husband of 30 years, She resides in Peterborough, ON.
Dr. Ern Brake

Dr. Ern Brake is a lifestyle makeover strategist. He is the author of a new book, The FULL POWER Plan: Unlock Nature’s Formula for Optimal Body Mind Vitality - an amazing program to help you become the best version of yourself - physically, mentally and spiritually. His seminar is based on his book.
As a young seeker in Halifax, Ern was struck with how God provided principles for personal growth and health, even reversing most chronic diseases.
After graduating from Burman University in 1985, Ern served as a pastor for 25 years in Newfoundland and British Columbia, continually experimenting with health outreach. Then he served in the BC Conference office for 11 years, first as the Ministerial Director, then as the Strategic Planner/Trainer, and finally as Vice-President for Administration.
During that time, Ern served as the BC Conference Health Ministries Director for eight years and worked with a team of health professionals to bring wellness principles to communities in BC.
Dr. Dave Schwinghammer
Philanthropy and Marketing Director for ADRA Canada
Dr. Dave Schwinghammer joins us from Ontario Canada, where he currently serves as the Philanthropy and Marketing Director for ADRA Canada. Over the last 28 years he has served in various capacities as pastor of small and large congregations, Conference Director of both Stewardship and Worship departments, as well as Conference Administration. Pastor Dave has earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in the area of discipleship and worship. He is passionate about sharing the good news of life in the Kingdom of God through spoken word and music. He feels blessed to enjoy life with his wife Ingrid, daughter Albany and son-in-law James, and son Justin.
Brad Dennis
Pastor for the BC Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church & Community Wellness Consultant
Brad Dennis is Huu-ay-aht First Nation from the West Coast of Vancouver Island. His Huu-ay-aht name is Qwa uun nahs aht, “from the place of the chiefs.” He is a lifelong Adventist grounded in biblical truth of God’s love as Creator. He received his Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree and Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Walla Walla University in 2001 and 2003, respectively. He was selected as NASW Outstanding Student of the Year in 2003 for his volunteer work in the Confederated Tribes of Walla Walla, Umatilla and Cayuse, as well as in the Yakama Nation. Following licensure supervision under Terry Cross (LCSW) and Karen St. Claire (LCSW), both of whom are Indigenous Social Workers, he received his License of Clinical Social Work (LCSW) certification from Oregon State in 2015 and is currently registered as a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) in British Columbia.
During the past 20 years, he has served professionally in multiple capacities. His direct practice includes community development with the All Nations Center in Wapato, WA; mental health mobile crisis team in Portland, OR; homeless youth outreach for urban Native youth in Portland, OR; inpatient psychiatric mental health; psychiatric emergency room social work; community advocacy and policy development for urban Native community members; and school counseling with predominantly Native students.
Currently, he works with his wife, DeeAnna Dennis (MSW), in their community wellness consulting business, T’ašii Hašah Consulting, providing consultation, training and coaching for aboriginal governments and organizations seeking to reclaim and restore traditional ways of wellness. Brad has led the program development for child & family services, early years programs, youth center programs, tiny homes program for men in recovery experiencing housing instability, Nation-specific Bachelor of Social Work Program start-up, elders village, mental wellness, land based healing, complex care, land based drug and alcohol treatment, and has also extensively led the grant writing process necessary to fund such programming. He also serves part-time as a pastor and spiritual leader, helping churches and religious organizations in their process of healing through reconciliation with Indigenous communities. He has served over 10 years with reconciliation ministries within the Upper Columbia Conference, Alberta Conference and the BC Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Carmela Monk Crawford
Editor of Message Magazine
Carmela Monk Crawford is Editor of Message Magazine which is the is the oldest and most widely circulated religious journal addressing ethnic issues in the United States of America. She is a writer, editor, radio host, and legal counsel. She was an Adjunct Professor of Law at Central State University and an Assistant Public Defender in Dayton, Ohio. She received her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
She spent most of her legal career in private practice in Dayton Ohio, advocating for children and families caught in destructive cycles of abuse and neglect. She has championed adults and children in criminal cases and also took up the painstaking fight for immigrants seeking legal status. She was honored with several citations and awards for her pro bono work and efforts defending children in the juvenile justice system.
She is married to David Crawford, a talented artist and IT systems administrator. Together, they have three young adults: Kharis, Langston, and Nathan. She is the first woman and first lay member to serve as the editor of Message. This assignment is significant to her in these times of change and given the increasing nearness of Christ’s return. It means all can—and must— step up to finish the work together.
Karl Johnson
Seventh-day Adventist Pastor & Theology Professor
Pastor Karl Johnson is from the lovely island of Mauritius, and he is a retired Seventh-day Adventist pastor. He has exercised his ministry in places such as the Indian Ocean Islands, West Africa, French Polynesia, Quebec, as well as France. He was a theology professor at the Collonges-sous-Salève faculty in France and he was also a commentator on religious radio and television programs such as It Is Written, Hope Channel, and 3ABN. He is a passionate about current events, and he strives to articulate the essential truths of the Christian faith with vigor and in an accessible and contemporary language, without shirking the difficult questions that arise. Married to Ariane Zamudio, he is the father of two children and currently lives in Canada.
John Scott (Youth & Main Auditorium Speaker)
Director of Youth, Young Adults, Adventist Christian Fellowship & Singles Ministries for the Ontario Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
Pastor Scott was born in Toronto, Ontario Canada but grew up in the sunny, twin-islands of Trinidad & Tobago. From a very young age he sensed the call of God to ministry.
Attending Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, Pastor Scott studied ministry, and graduated in spring of 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Ministerial Theology. Furthering his ministerial training, he attended the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, Michigan and graduated with a Master of Divinity Degree in the summer of 2001 and was ordained to gospel ministry in July 2002.
Pastor Scott currently serves the Ontario Conference as the Director of Youth, Young Adults, Adventist Christian Fellowship & Singles Ministries. He has proclaimed the gospel to many in Canada, USA, England, Bermuda, the West Indies and Central America, at camp meetings, youth weeks of prayer, youth days, singles ministry events and at evangelistic campaigns. As a result many have been won to Jesus Christ.
